Temescal is one of Oakland’s oldest neighborhoods.  Most of the houses are 2 bedroom, 1 bath bungalows.  Prices have been rising recently as the neighborhood has become a more attractive destination.  Restaurants like Pizzaiolo and Dona Tomas - as well as the spectacular bakery Bakesale Betty - has made the area a destination for foodies.  Lots of artist-types live in the area.  The area is also popular among Ethiopians.  It’s convenient to BART, Highway 580 and Highway 24.
